WhatsApp Group Guidelines

In 12-Step recovery, connection and fellowship are vital. Shared experience offers strength and hope, reinforcing that no one recovers alone. While formal meetings provide structure, informal spaces like the Kindr: Queer Men’s Recovery Group WhatsApp chat sustain recovery. Though not an official Kindr Recovery meeting, it embodies the 12 Traditions, providing a safe, welcoming space.

The group thrives on principles ensuring safety, respect, and inclusivity. These protect unity, maintain purpose, and foster trust. The focus is recovery, in line with Tradition Five. While general conversation is welcome, inappropriate content is removed—not as censorship but to preserve integrity.

No one is here to “fix” another. Tradition One teaches that recovery depends on unity. Members share experience, strength, and hope rather than advice. Confidentiality, rooted in Tradition Twelve, ensures trust and anonymity, creating a secure space for honesty.

Personal attacks, gossip, and divisive discussions are not tolerated. Tradition Ten reminds us to avoid outside issues, keeping the group a refuge. Disagreements should be met with empathy. Harmful posts may be removed to protect the group’s supportive nature.

Following Tradition Six, the group has no affiliations, keeping recovery the sole focus. The 12 Traditions guide us, and members are expected to uphold them. Repeated violations may result in a temporary step away for reflection—not as punishment but to realign with group values.

These guidelines ensure the group remains a place of healing and connection. They are safeguards, not restrictions, fostering unity, respect, and support. By committing to them, we honour those before us, preserving a space where recovery flourishes.

Together, we build a fellowship rooted in the Traditions, sustained by mutual support, and dedicated to recovery.
